Coaching provides a safe and supportive space for the individual to examine areas within their life that they would like to better understand, improve or change. The coach supports, challenges and guides the individual towards achieving these improvements and changes by setting tasks, offering skill sets and challenging current thinking.

What is Coaching?
In a world where there are more ways to communicate than ever before, the basic skills of human interaction are being lost. There are numerous social anxieties and stressors being triggered due to a lack of fundamental communication skills. If we can’t communicate properly to each other then we can’t develop an understanding of each other properly. Everything we do and everything we think requires some form of communication to express and achieve. This is why at Coaching Talk we focus on developing effective communication in order to move forward in our lives, our relationships and become our best selves.

“My oldest boy changed during Covid. He started spending all his time in his room. We only saw him for food. He didn’t want to spend time with us and when I asked him what was wrong he always just said NOTHING. When school started back after lockdown he never wanted to go and wouldn’t go back to doing sport either until I absolutely dragged him. I thought he had depression or something and didn’t know what to do until another mother at the local club mentioned Joanne might be able to help. I called her and she set up a few sessions with him. It has been slow but he is definitely coming back to himself. He doesn’t mope around the way he did and I feel that we can talk to each other better. He’s better able to tell me how he’s feeling. He’s back at sport now and there’s no complaints about school either. I had no idea what life coaching was but I would definitely it now. “

“My little lady started secondary school last year and really found it difficult. She didn’t know anybody very well starting and absolutely hated going. She’d start feeling sick on Sunday evenings and when she started actually vomiting in the mornings before school I had to do something. At first I thought it was a bug but then I realised it didn’t happen at weekends. I looked on the internet and everything seemed to point to Social Anxiety. I knew Joanne from years ago and thought as a Principal she might have some ideas what to do. I gave her a call to see would she recommend anything. When she told me that she’d do some coaching sessions to see would it help I didn’t think twice. After only five sessions I could see huge improvements. The sickness stopped and I would hear little snippets of news from school in the evenings. This year, when she started in second year, there wasn’t even any sign of nerves going in. It was such a relief.”

“Joanne has helped me think about how I talk to my family and how we talk to each other. Our house always seemed to be full of shouting and screaming and stress and I hated it and didn’t know how to fix it. Joanne sat us all down together to look at how we communicate. It wasn’t easy and she told us a few things we didn’t want to hear, but now we are much better for it. I think we all understand each other better and we hardly ever shout at each other or get stressed with each other any more. Everything is more peaceful in our house.”

“Joanne’s help has been absolutely amazing. After one session I could see a difference in my child’s behaviour. She was happier and it’s like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders and mine. I would 100% recommend Joanne”
